My story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my fund raising page - it is a great start!

I am very pleased to say that I completed the Flora London Marathon and did so in a respectable 2 hours 59 minutes 51 seconds. I was extremely pleased to break the 3 hour barrier which was very much my aim, but as my time indicates it was quite a challenge!

I have been utterly amazed by the support and generosity that I have received from so many sponsors. As you can see I have smashed my original target of £2000 sponsorship and look likely to get up to, or near £6000 by the time I finish. This is a staggering sum and I am hugely appreciative of all the support - thank you.

Sadly, we all seem to know someone suffering from either cancer or leukaemia nowadays. It is simply horrific how these diseases strike and the impact that they have on families. I have three members of family currently fighting cancer and leukaemia and I am fed up of sitting on the sidelines, doing nothing and want try help, all be it in a very small way.

CLIC is an amazing charity that support children suffering with these dreadful diseases and, particularly importantly, also their families. Their work makes a monumental difference to thousands of families in the UK when they really need it.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: CLIC will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you. I am particularly keen to attract support from businesses, as well as individuals, who may have the ability to pledge a larger sum. If your firm offers such charity support, please forward this to the relevant person and put forward a convincing case for me! There is a transaction charge for using this site, but I will cover this on all donations made, to ensure all the money that you offer goes to the charity. Thank you very much for your support. Stuart
