Thank you for visiting this fundraising page and your interest in both our wedding and this special cause for us.
Coming to terms with a rare condition like Angelman Syndrome is difficult enough for any parent. Chosing to take on this lifelong commitment is another thing altogether.
Between us, we have done this.
Our wedding is just the next step in the journey- with our new family member expected in February next year.
But Holly is an important member of our family and we're determined that this will not change, whatever the practicalities involved. She's changed us and has had a profound effect on those around us.. Recent events across the summer have shown that.
Most of you will have met her and fallen under her spell and you may already know about AS.
But for those that haven’t, Angelman Syndrome is a rare genetic condition that typically results in severe special needs, physical disability, a loss of verbal skills and childhood epilepsy. ASSERT is a support group for approx 400 families affected by AS and we operate a 24-7 helpline, newsletter, regional get-togethers and national conferences. We have also produced the only DVD available in the world on the condition which sells globally at cost to help as many parents, families and professionals as possible.
We are also both trustees of ASSERT and co-ordinate the South West.
If you decide to donate, thank you. It will enable our essential work to continue and will benefit affected families across the UK. If you'd like more details of the money in action, then please get in touch.
