More than 45,500 - that’s around 1 in 9 women - are diagnosed with breast cancer every year in the UK. Diagnosis and treatment can have a huge emotional and physical impact on a woman and her family. As well as physical symptoms such as pain, nausea and hair loss, people often experience feelings of shock, fear and anxiety. Breast Cancer Haven is a registered charity providing support services to help them cope. Tailored to an individual’s needs and medical treatment, the charity’s programme of care focuses on the whole person – to help them feel better physically and emotionally and live a healthier life. There are 3 Havens - in London, Hereford and Leeds where Visitors can come and benefit from the expertise of our specialist nurses, therapists and counsellors and also from meeting others going through a similar experience. People who can’t get to a Haven can call our clinical specialists and counsellors or get information from our website. In addition, our DVD/CD and online support package called Breast Cancer Haven at Home is available from January 2009. Breast Cancer Haven’s services are free of charge and available to anyone who has been affected by breast cancer and those close to them. In the absence of any government funding, the charity is dependent on charitable donations and fundraising events to continue delivering this vital service.

My story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

It's really quite scary that every person I have spoken to since I decided to do something to raise money for Breast Cancer Haven knows someone who has had or has this dreadful disease. Indeed, my sister is such a person and words cannot express how we give thanks every day that she is still here living her life to the full! She is my inspiration for the charity event as she does tireless work for fellow 'victims'

Breast Cancer Haven Leeds is a truly wonderful place run by truly wonderful people who open their doors to everyone that needs their help.

'PINK ROCK 2009' features 8 bands including my own at a great venue in the Leeds area and we are all working to have a fantastic day and raise 'loadsa money' for this great cause. There will be all sorts going off on the day as well as great music and fun.

Everyone welcome, but for those who can't attend but want to help please, please make a donation here, doesn't matter how little, every penny really does help!
