Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. And spot the deliberate mistake - it's not the Great Northern Run; it's the Great Manchester Run. Did they put something in my job description re: 'attention to detail'????
As many of you will know I changed job direction in April and I have a new job in the field of fundraising. I'm incredibly lucky as I'm working for a charity whose work I've admired for a long time. They are George House Trust who work with people living with HIV in the NW. www.ght.org.uk
I was supposed to do the BUPA Great Manchester Run 2009 on Sunday 17 May for them but...er...delegated my place to the lovely Mark Babych (many of you will know Mark as the artistic director of the Octagon Theatre, Bolton and - in a shameless plug here - Mark will be directing his last play for the Octagon, The Seafarer, opening on 4 June www.octagonbolton.co.uk)
Mark, in a typical moment of generosity, offered to do the run for me (an after show bar moment) This 10k was Mark's first and he completed the 10k in 1 hour, 7 minutes in windy and rainy conditions. A big thank you to Mark.
Whilst Mark was running, I was setting up the bar and wiping tables in Crunch 2 for our after run celebration party for our 99 runners (so I was working!) So far (19 May) we've raised £5,500 which will go to the George House Trust Welfare Fund.
Please support me, Mark and George House Trust by making a donation.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: George House Trust gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
love
