Health Initiatives (HI) aims to empower young people under 27 living with HIV/AIDS.
We provide tailored services & trainings with accurate, age appropriate information and counselling that motivates young people to take control of their lives when testing and living with HIV/AIDS
We now have agreement with Soho Walk - In Centre, 1 Frith Street to open a 3 month pilot Sunday clinic to provide HIV testing, support & counselling for young people.
I've created this page to generate £5000 to cover the cost of the building and £5000 to cover HIV testing kits (£15 per test accounts for testing 333 people).
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
Health Initiatives www.healthinitiatives.org was founded in 1999 to provide support and education to young people with HIV/AIDS and has campaigned for young people's sexual health equality and reached over 7,000 people directly through workshops/trainings.
In the last few years we have campaigned for sexual health services to be provided out of hours and on the weekend. NHS and community groups have now started to address the problem and with a new centre on Dean Street progress is being made. In order for the Government to reach 48 hour target for patients to be seen by a sexual health advisor the number of clinics would have to be at the very least doubled in order to reach demand.
Our aim is simply to provide testing and support on a sunday targeting the scene where people take the most risks in bars/clubs.
