Hello ladies and gents,
I have devised a fundraising idea to tie in with my passion for music.
Over the past few years I become more involved with making music as
hobby, and recently I have been lucky enough to have received some
success.
I have entered a remix competition for AfriqueDeluxe's forthcoming
single "On It", to be released in in early 2010. AfriqueDeluxe
(www.myspace.com/ukproducer) is an incredibly talented UK based
producer and I'm grateful for the opportunity to re-work his music.
As for the remix contest itself, I have been fortunate enough to have
my song selected for the final 3 and the competition is now open to
public voting. This is where you guys can come in! The winner
receives prize money of £150, a T-shirt and a commercial release! I
can honestly say that the prize money is not important to me but it
would be a life time dream to have my remix released on a worldwide
scale.
My promise: If I can accumulate enough votes to win the competition, I
will be donating the £150 to Cancer Research UK. In addition, I shall
myself be donating 5 pence for every vote I receive, regardless of whether or
not I win!! As an act of goodwill, you may donate yourself. All
proceeds go directly to Cancer Research UK, the cost of fundraising has
been minimal, I have really enjoyed making my song.
My reasons for choosing Cancer Research are personal. It simply hits
very close to home, so this charity is very close to my heart. In
return for achieving a goal of mine, this is a chance for me to finally
give something back to those in need.
