CAMPAIGN TO FIND NEW SITE - message from Kara Bishop, Chief Executive

The Board of Trustees of St Wilfrid's Hospice met on 25 November to decide the way forward for the hospice following the decision by planners to refuse our proposal for redevelopment on our Mill Gap Road site.  The Board has not ruled out appealing the planning committee decision but in the meantime they decided that we should search for an alternative site with renewed urgency.

Our current building enables us to care for just one in four of those who might need us.  We urgently need to find a way to build a bigger hospice.  If we can’t rebuild at Mill Gap Road, we must look elsewhere. Simply put, we cannot give up on our determination to offer our specialist care to more of those who need us.

Therefore, we are launching our “SOS Support our Search” campaign.

Ways you can help:

Wear a Wilfie’s sticker
Invest time by volunteering
Look for land
Fundraise or donate
Involve a friend (or two)
Email petition at www.stwhospice.org
Sponsor a Wilfies Wish at www.stwhospice.org

For more information, please call 01323 432180 or email sos@stwhospice.org

Thank you.
