We support Royal Marines and their familes to overcome their challenges

Story

A bunch of wannabe Royal Marines running 10km around Cardiff city over all sorts of obstacles, with the aim of getting as wet and muddy as possible for charity. Oh, and all in fancy dress. Together, we are Team Hoofin'.

Survival of the Fittest is a yearly event that takes place at different locations throughout the UK for people crazy enough to want to go out in cold weather in October to prove that they are fit enough to get to the end, and receive a nice shiny medal. More information can be found at the link below.

Being potential Royal Marines, no challenge is too big, and we've decided to make it a bit harder for ourselves to do all this in fancy dress. And all in aid of the 'Royal Marines Charitable Trust Fund'.

The RMCTF has a target of raising £6,000,000 by 2014 to help Royal Marines that have been injured and have to make the transition back to civilian life, which can be a very stressful transition, help serving Royals through successive tours of duty, help fund homecoming events and memorials, and, sadly, helping families that lose a loved one serving in the Corps with financial issues. More information on the RMCTF can be found at the link below.

As an afterthought, some of the team are also taking on the Welsh 3000's on the 23rd October. This involves reaching all 15 peaks in Wales over 3000ft in under 24 hours. Our target time is about 12 hours, and as it's October, we will have the added bonus of superb weather conditions to contend with. All good fun.

Our target for this page is £500, which isn't a great deal in the grand scheme of things, but will help make a difference and be put to good use.

Please help out by making a donation to help those who put their lives at risk daily trying to better the lives of others.

Donating is quick and easy, and can even be done via PayPal, if you would prefer not to give out your card details.

Thank you for your support.
