Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
I am running the BUPA 10k Great Manchester Run on Sunday 17th May and to make it more special I have decided to raise money for the Children's Aid Robert Broude Memorial Fund.
My friends Helena and Pete Broude set up a fund in memory of their son Robert who lost his brave fight for life in December 2004 at the age of 19 after suffering from a rare form of cancer.
After successfully raising enough money to build a new unit in Robert's name at the Young Oncology Unit, (Y.O.U.) at Christies Hospital where Robert spent a great deal of time in the last couple years of his life, they are continuing to raise money so the unit can be equipped to the highest medical standards as well as supplying entertainment equipment and other comfort features. This was Robert's wish.
This is where you come in! No doubt you are always receiving letters for charity but please give this one an extra thought. Robert left his family with the inspiration and vision to improve the Y.O.U. so that other young people can be helped to deal with their misfortune at a very traumatic time of their lives.
Please help me help the Broudes achieve their goal by sponsoring me as I "race" round Manchester city centre on the 17th May.
Thank you,
Susan
