Thanks for taking the time to visit my fundraising page.
As many of you know, my friend Laura Case died while she was in Uganda on her medical elective last year. I was planning to compete in the Ironman 70.3 2009 for The Laura Case Trust, which her parents and friends set up to celebrate her life and support projects she would have felt strongly about.
However, I could not compete in the Ironman 2009 due to a knee injury and so switched to do the Windermere swim in September 2010 but unfortunately had a second more serious knee injury and had to have surgery last July so couldn't take part. I hope those of you who have already donated don't mind me changing the nature of my event again and anyone who hasn't, please do! The page has been extended to the end of the year so I still hope to make my target!
I am facing my greatest fear (heights) on 5 Aug by jumping out of a perfectly serviceable plane! Having joined the Army in 2005 I've had to complete numerous assualt and high wire confidence courses; my fear has only increased since then though and therefore you can be assured I do not do this lightly! I am then completing the 'Devil's Aquathlon on 2 Oct. I might even face my other big fear and hold a tarantula before the year is out!
I hope you can donate something in recognition of this and the fact that The Trust has already been doing valuable work in educating and saving lives in the UK, Africa and Afghanistan. Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Laura Case Trust gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now.
Thank you x
