Hi. Thank you for your interest in my fundraising challenge.
Follow my blog www.suzimussell.blogspot.com
On May 8th 2009 I will be leaving home at 6.45am to start the 3 day South Downs Way Cycle Challenge raising money for the Argus Appeal. It starts in Hampshire, via Midhurst & Brighton and ends at Beachy Head on Sunday 10th (my birthday). The total distance is 105 miles (35miles a day), with a total of 12,600ft of ascent! (apparently 3 times the height of Mount Snowdon), supposedly reaching our destination each day around 4pm. It doesn't end there, we then have to put up tents! or get a man to do it me thinks! Apparently the ratio of men to women on this challenge is greater in their favour, - I wonder why?
I only normally cycle every now again so I decided training should start as soon as possible. I started training at the end of February and am now doing 2 rides during the week and a longer ride at the weekend on the downs. My fitness and stamina are now as good as they are going to be. The hilly country roads around Bolney are no longer daunting and it's amazing how much you discover about where you live when you are not racing past it in a car. I am taking photographs during my rides which you can see on my blog.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Argus Appeal gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now!
