Why your donation matters

SVR can literally be a life saver as former Scots Guard Donald McLeod explains " I wouldn't be here now if it wasn't for SVR. I'd have done myself in. When you're homeless and you go there it's a godsend. You get all the support you need." When Donald arrived at SVR in 1995 he had no idea he was suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder from his service in The Falklands. After staying in one of the rooms at Whitefoord House in Edinburgh for several years he moved into one of SVR's independent flats. "the help's still there" he says "you can pick up the phone or they'll come and see you". Donald has been in his new flat for 2 years and Biggles, his young rescue dog, has moved in and found a new life there too.
