Dear friends,
As many of you may know a good friend of ours, Dennis Porter was involved in a very serious accident in June of this year. Dennis is currently receiving treatment and rehabiliation at the Stoke Mandeville hospital for his extensive injuries. We are hoping that Dennis will be able to come home soon, something that he is desperate to do. In order for that to happen, the home which he shares with his wife Hazel must be specially adapted for his needs. Dennis will also need a special wheelchair which will enable him to do some of the basic everyday tasks that we take for granted.
Unfortunately all of these things come at a cost, so a few of us are getting together on the 7th December to swim the length of the English Channel (in a pool!), with the help of charity Aspire, in order to raise money for Dennis. Aspire are a charity who support people with serious spinal injuiries. Aspire offers practical support to 40,000 people living with a spinal cord injury in the UK so they can lead fulfilled and independent lives in their homes, with their families, in work places and leisure time. We have agreed with Aspire that all the money raised through our swim will go directly to Dennis.
Thanks so much for visiting our page. All donations are greatly appreciated.
