We've achieved a lot in the first months of 2009:
* Victory in the Battle for Bimini!
* Ground-breaking research on loop holes in UK regulation regarding tourism to Burma
* Provisional funding from DFID to support grassroots organisations and families in coastal areas of India, displaced by tourism
However, we are struggling to continue our work because of the difficult economic climate. Our core funding and reserves are dwindling. Last month, all staff, including part-time staff agreed to take a 10% cut in salary and sadly, one of long standing members of staff took voluntary redundancy.
