Thank you for visiting the Tea Leaf Trust  fundraising page!

The Tea Leaf Trust mission statement:

“To improve the quality of life, increase opportunities and enable choice for poor families through education”

We are called the Tea Leaf Trust and we have established an educational centre in Maskeliya, the heartland of the tea-picking region of Sri Lanka. We currently teach a number of subjects including English, IT, Business and Speech, to enable graduates to get a jobs in office based business. The students of our school will also be trained to teach a basic English programme to primary aged school children, whose parents are committed to their children's education, but can't afford english lessons.

As our graduates find higher level, sustainable employment they increase their household income and therefore that of the wider community.

Every penny that you generously donate will go towards providing free education and improving opportunities for the poorest people in the tea picking areas. Everything that you contribute will help reduce poverty in these areas and getting people into better paid jobs.

A regular donation of
£25 will allow one person to attend the school and acquire the education needed to find a well paid job to raise their family out of poverty without impacting on the financial status of their family whilst they learn.

Many students would like to attend the school but it would mean that they would only be able to work part time. This would impact heavily on their families and more often then not would mean that they couldn't attend, perpetuating the cycle of poverty. If a regular donation of any amount is what you would like to do, this can be done through www.justgiving.com/tealeaftrust

Education can improve employment opportunities, which in turn  can increase earnings. Rising out of poverty can improve both health and well being, making a real difference to communities for the better.

Your support can change countless lives, give hope to communities and help raise families out of poverty.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Tea Leaf Trust gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
