My story
Team MNINC is running the 10km Great Manchester Run!!
We`ve ten incredible people all training hard to raise essential funds for The Christie and to raise awareness of cancer, cancer organisations and the people coping with cancer.
My Name Is NOT Cancer was inspired Megan Fletcher, a wonderful young lady whose remarkable insight continues to give courage and support to others. Whilst diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma, Megan recognised how absolutely vital it was to maintain a sense of self throughout the enormity and challenge of cancer. MNINC was created thanks to Megan’s resolve to be true to herself and her determination to refuse to be defined by her cancer diagnosis. She believed that every individual, regardless of their prognosis or type of cancer, should be encouraged to retain their identity and sense of self, whilst in the grip of the illness. The whole ethos of the organisation is to see people for who they are, rather than what they are dealing with: you stand out, your illness doesn’t.
The Christie has been pioneering cancer research breakthroughs for over 100 years and is the largest cancer centre in Europe. If you wish to support Team MNINC in our efforts to raise essential funds for The Christie, please give generously through this site, and it`d be great if we end up exceeding our target!

Helen, Jon, Ben and Jo are all travelling North for the event on Saturday 19th and are pleased with how training is going, though Helen has decided she HATES running... Well done H! Keep on keeping on and theres a decent brew and cake when its over :) xx
Ian has been training so hard, he`s broken the treadmill! Working in the Middle East, Ian will now have to run outside in the 35 degree heat! This final 10 days training is going to be super tough!
Fiona had major surgery to her shoulder last wednesday to repair a torn shoulder cuff and broken ac joint so it`s unlikely she`ll be able to run on the day :( As ever though, she`s determined to support The Christie so we are sure she will be there - come rain or shine!
Hi everyone, we`re all training very hard and really appreciate your support! Ian has raised a HUGE amount of money - so even though this is a team effort, there`s now friendly rivelry between members as to who can raise the most! :)
