The Mayor's Office (Stephen, Jo, Ben, Eleanor and Janet) are going to be running the Lewisham fun run on 4th October 2009 to raise money for the Lavender Trust at Breast Cancer Care.
Confidence is running high in some quarters with Jo fresh from the Berlin marathon and Eleanor gearing up for her trek across Jordan, while some of us don't even own a pair of decent trainers and are still wondering how they're going to get up so early on a Sunday morning. Discussions around possible fancy dress, the availabilty of a Banana Man costume scuppered Ben's most fantastic idea, and training plans (or apparent lack of) has kept debate during team meetings over the last few months lively.
On the day will Stephen lead from the front, like all good managers, while we maintain a leisurely pace (possibly nursing a headache or two) or will Jo show us all how it's done and be on her way to the finish while some of us are still tying our shoelaces?
