Story

Every year LFW Podiatry choose a charity to support and raise funds for. This year, we have chosen to support the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA). Throughout 2022, we will be doing a series of events to raise as much money to aid support and much needed research for our chosen charity.

Motor neurone disease affects the nerves called motor neurones in the brain and spinal chord. These muscles tell your nerves what to do but when these neurones are damaged, it can effect the way the body works. Over time this can affect the way a person walks, talks, eats and breathes. Motor neurone disease affects people differently and there are different types of the disease. The speed with which it progresses will also vary from person to person and sadly there is no cure. However, the MND Association funds and promotes research that leads to new understandings and treatments in the hope of eventually finding a cure! With your support and ours, together we can help raise money to help with much needed research.

Starting on 24th April, Jenny White, our Podiatrist and Rachael James, one of our Patient supoort team will be running a 10k amongst the animals at Yorkshires wildlife Park in Doncaster and we are asking for donations, which will go directly to our chosen charity for 2022, the MND Association. We will update our website www.lfwpodiatry.co.uk with the training programme from Jenny and Rachael as the weeks go by.
