We're taking on this 3 peaks challenge in loving memory of our beautiful Gemma Reading, we hope to raise a considerable amount of money for mental health charity MIND.

Our beautiful Gemma passed away on the 3rd of April 2021, she was 42. Gemma suffered with her mental health from the age of 16, and for a long time she managed to cope and live a relatively normal life but unfortunately when you have a mental illness its always there, eating away at you on a daily basis.

The last 10 years of Gemma's life were a real struggle, she found life difficult to cope with, her eating disorder was rearing its ugly head more aggressively each day and the right treatment and support was difficult to find. Trying to cope with the demons in her head Gemma unfortunately became alcohol dependant, she relied on alcohol to get her through the day, to numb the feelings of low self worth, insecurity and fear. It broke our hearts to watch our beautiful, vivacious, talented, funny, full of life Gemma turn into someone we didn't recognise or understand. We knew she was still in there somewhere but it was becoming increasingly difficult to make her see sense and get the help she needed. Life was just too much to cope with for Gemma in the end. Devastatingly Gemma had abused her body and health to a point of no return.

Our aim is to raise awareness and get people talking about mental health, lose the stigma because it can happen to any of us!

This money is to help anyone suffering like Gemma did. THERE NEEDS TO BE MORE ACCESSIBLE TREATMENT AND SUPPORT READILY AVAILABLE IN THIS COUNTRY! No one should have to suffer in the darkness of mental illness.

We as Gemma's family and friends have taken on this challenge #climb4jemlo because we have to do something, for Gemma, for others, for ourselves. Mind is a fantastic charity, their mission is to provide accessible advice, support and services to anyone suffering with mental health issues.

So please dig deep and give what you can, mental health treatment and support is needed more now than ever before.
