FINAL UPDATE: We have written a cheque to St Raph's for £420 (half the money) and will take it to the shop during the holidays. The rest will go towards our cycling and independent travel programmes in school.

UPDATE: Well we did it!! Pupils cycled a total of 343 miles during the project which, together with the staff efforts mean we achieved a grand total of 1070 miles cycled during the TfL Cycle Challenge period!

First of all this page is for the Team Bike 3 participants (everyone at school) not just Carolyn. It is linked to the 'Link Schools' charity on Just Giving.
We are raising money for the Link Secondary School travel initiatives (e.g. independent travel training and cycling) and St Raphael's Hospice (one of our community partners)
Link Secondary School 'Team Bike 3' consists of pupils, staff and friends of the Link Secondary School. Our pupils aim to ride a total of 300 miles between them this week (from 1 to 25 miles depending on experience).
INDEPENDENT TRAVEL PROGRAM - we help our students to learn their journey home from school by bus, train and tram until they are able to do it on their own. The program is supported by teachers, teaching assistants, occupational therapist and speech and language therapists. We need extra funds to keep this going as there are fewer grants available this year.
CYCLING - all of our pupils have benefited from the bikes, trikes and scooters purchased thanks to successful bids to Smarter Travel Sutton and the Community Cycling Fund for London. We hope to be able to train staff and pupils to maintain the bikes and purchase more specialist equipment.
ST RAPHAEL'S HOSPICE - offers high-quality specialist medical and nursing care for people with cancer and other serious illnesses as well as providing support for their families.
