Thanks for visiting our fundraising page and a big THANK YOU to everyone who has sponsored us so far. Although we have now completed the marathon, it's not too late to donate to the Kent Air Ambulance!
We can confirm that on 26 April 2009 we all successfully completed the London Marathon. It was tough in the heat but we all got round the course: Dave in 4 hours 8 mins, Lorna in 4 hours 14 mins and Jonathan in 4 hours 35 mins.
We were running the London Marathon and chose to raise funds for Kent Air Ambulance because we all live and work in Kent and are aware of the vital service it provides. The Air Ambulance is funded entirely by voluntary donations. It costs £1.6 million every year to keep the life saving helicopters in our skies 365 days a year.
The Air Ambulance has flown over 12,000 missions and continues to be available to every person living, working and travelling through our county, should they ever need it.
Responding swiftly to 999 calls, the Kent Air Ambulance can deliver its highly skilled team of Doctors and Critical Care Paramedics to the scene of an accident or medical emergency within minutes. Flying fast, direct and unhindered at over 150mph the Kent Air Ambulance can reach any part of within 15 minutes flying time and can transport patients to the most appropriate specialist unit or nearest major hospital in a fraction of the time taken by land ambulance.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Kent Air Ambulance Trust gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor us now!
