My story

 

Update 09/03/2009: We're back! As you can see, we've raised well over half our target (and we haven't submitted the offline sponsorship forms yet). We had a gruelling but fantastic weekend which involved nearly 1000 miles of driving, through the Midlands, North Yorkshire, County Durham, Scotland, Merseyside etc. At the awards dinner it was announced that the event had raised nearly £90,000 - well over the £72,000 target needed to take the grand total since the event began of £1/2million!! To cap it all, we were awarded a trophy for coming 3rd overall!

Update 03/03/2009: The Defender is back from the garage (thanks, Maresfield 4x4!) and going to be packed tomorrow, ready for the off on Thursday the 5th!!

Update: Emma is pregnant and is not looking forward to sleeping in the back of the Defender. We managed to tell my mother shortly before she died and my father is thrilled about being a grandpa

Update: Thank you to all who have sponsored us so far - still some way to go before we reach our target, though!!

Update: Robin's mother sadly lost her battle with cancer on December 13th, 2008. She died very peacefully, surrounded by all her family. Although MacMillan weren't directly involved, we feel that it is still a very worthy cause and thank you all for your support
