What is the 4x4 on Exmoor - Exmoor challenge?
On Friday 19th March 2010 will see up to 60 vehicles arrive at Wheddon Cross to take part in the Exmoor 4x4 Jaunt or Challenge. Challengers will navigate the routes in teams of 3 vehicles with the minimum of one driver and one navigator per vehicle. Each team aims to raise funds in support of Wooden Spoon’s work with mentally, socially, and physically disadvantaged youngsters.
The Challenge is split into two the 'jaunt' and the 'challenge' The Jaunt is made up of a number of off road sections of varying difficulties and is suitable for families, people of all skill ranges and most types of 4x4, The challenge is more demanding than the Jaunt, therefore reasonable skills and a suitable vehicle are necessary.
Who is Wooden Spoon ?
Over the last few years, Wooden Spoon challengers have played a massive role in raising over £4.5m.In the last six years we’ve given over £7m to a variety of charitable causes.
As a result, 500,000 mentally, physically and socially disadvantaged children, young people and their families have benefited.
