Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
Our challenge is to drive from Plymouth to Banjul in a 23 year old BMW for charity! The challenge is organised by Julian Nowill of The Plymouth-Dakar Challenge however we're pretty much on our own as there's no outside help once we set off!
Our route will take us through France, Spain, Gibraltar, Morrocco, Western Sahara, Mauritiana, and finally Banjul in The Gambia. It’s a journey that’ll take 4000 miles and some serious determination. As there’s no help it’s up to us to find the exact route (no signposts in Africa!), sort out our own sleeping arrangements (camping to save money) and fix our car should we break down (we’re doing a mechanics course).
We’ve been told to take some bribery money to get out of sticky situations in Africa, which are almost a certainty, and be prepared to help and be helped. So as you can see, we’ve got quite a challenge on our hands!
We're doing this to raise money for a charity called GOOD KARMA whose aim is to raise funds for working schools in India, dedicating themselves to educating children who would otherwise never have the opportunity.
They believe in total transparency so that you really know why their help is so badly needed - and how your donations are used!
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Kids for Kids gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now!
