Story

Hello and thanks for visiting our fundraising page.

We are participating in year’s Three Peaks Yacht Race in support of Conwy County Sea Cadets.  The 30th Three Peaks Yacht Race, which begins on Saturday June 28th, combines yachting, mountain running and cycling into one of the greatest adventure challenges in British sport.

The sea cadets plan to use any money raised to contribute to the annual running costs needed just to keep the Deganwy headquarters open, maintenance of their own boats and help towards the cost of sending the cadets on national training camps on the Sea Cadets Offshore training brig T.S. Royalist.

Commanding Officer Andy Burton says ‘it is a fantastic opportunity to have a team in such a high profile race raising money and awareness for Conwy County Sea Cadets. At present our numbers are slowly growing from the present 12 senior cadets and 15 junior cadets, and they are all aware of the tremendous effort that Team Indian Summer is making to help and support them. We are extremely appreciative and wish them the best of luck in the race.’

Team Indian Summer’s captain, Keith Mander says ‘ the youngsters at Conwy County Sea Cadets are North Wales’ future sailors, navigators, life boat rescuers and three peaks yacht race contenders and it is our pleasure to be able to support them in this way.’
