The Jungle Marathon- Brazil Oct 2009
From 8 - 17 October 2009, the intrepid Advent International team of Andrew Collier, Julian Roberts, Bianca Southwell will be running, swimming, wading, and scrambling through 200km of deepest Amazon rainforest, carrying all our provisions and camping equipment and heroically battling against equatorial temperatures and 100% humidity- not to mention the jaguars, piranha, candiru, hornets, swamps, leeches, ticks. tarantulas, mosquitoes the size of penguins, scorpions, snakes and packs of very bad tempered wild pigs. All great fun!
Due to the conditions, The Jungle Marathon is considered to be the toughest ultramarathon on the planet... so we want to use the opportunity to raise huge amounts of money for our chosen charity, Sparks, which funds vital research for a variety of infant and childhood diseases.
That is where you can help by sponsoring us so we can reach our target. And if you're a UK taxpayer, Gordon Brown will also chip in via gift aid. Bonus!
www.junglemarathon.com - there are still places available if you want to come along!!
We really do appreciate your support!!!
