I will be running the 2011 London marathon to raise money for both of my charities ‘The Vision Charity’ and ‘The Pituitary Foundation’. Harvey has inspired me to help raise awareness of my chosen charities in their day to day community work, plus their long term goals. It is well documented that my son 'Harvey' suffers from many conditions, and like so many other children who are blind, visually impaired and dyslexic 'The Vision Charity' plays such an important role in helping achieve their full potential and expand their opportunities. Harvey also has problems with his pituitary gland and The Pituitary Foundation offers vital practical and emotional support to adults and families of children such as Harvey, to help empower them on their lifelong journey. The pituitary is a tiny gland at the base of the brain, but it is the conductor of many other hormones in the body including the essential hormones that regulate growth in children, stress response and fluid balance. As a patron of my two charities, both of which remain close to my heart, I have challenged myself, family and friends to run the Virgin London Marathon 2011 on Sunday April 17. To help raise funds for vital work within these two hugely important organisations. I have been training lots with my team and we can’t wait to get involved in the race. Let’s hope it doesn’t rain!!
