In May 2007 we are attempting to complete the “3 Peaks Challenge” in order to raise as much money as we can for charity. The challenge involves climbing the three highest peaks in Great Britain (Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Mount Snowdon) all within 24 hours. We will be walking approximately 25 miles, ascending roughly 10,000 ft, and driving 450 plus miles all in a single day!
Team Life is made up of eight very willing walkers and two drivers who have kindly offered to transport us across the country in the early hours whilst the rest of the team crash out in the back of the van! The team have varying levels of experience and skill at this type of challenge and we’re all training hard at present to get fit for May and have committed to making sure we complete the challenge together.
We are hoping to raise as much as we can but our target is £10,000. The money will go to two charities, Cancer Research UK and Supporting Kids in Peru (SKIP). SKIP is probably not known to many people but has been doing fantastic work in Peru for several years. Run by two members of Team Life, SKIP provides the opportunity for kids in Peru to get an education. SKIP relies totally on charitable donations to keep going and will benefit enormously from money raised through this challenge. Cancer Research UK is a familiar charity to most people in this country and we hope to raise money to help in the fight against this terrible disease which impacts so many families every year.
