After Matt’s heroic efforts in last year’s London Triathlon, MCMS has entered a relay team in the 2008 event. The triathlon takes place in London Docklands over the weekend of 9th and 10th August 2008.
As Matt is once again competing in the individual event and is therefore unable to swim for our team, we are delighted that Nuala Muir Cochrane, an experienced 1,500m swimmer, has agreed to join us. Our other team members are Robert Gemmell (our cyclist) and Jonathan Cope (our runner).
Our chosen charity is The Shooting Star Children’s Hospice (www.shootingstar.org.uk) in Hampton. The Hospice is very special to MCMS, as Jonathan’s 20 month old niece, Lydia, is being cared for there. Lydia has Aicardi Syndrome which means that she is both mentally and physically disabled and her life will be very short. The Hospice has made an enormous difference to Jonathan’s family.
