What is the Sucata Run?
The Sucata Run is a bargain basement banger rally tour where teams of up to 4 people drive to Europe's most westerly point in 4 days, in bangers costing no more than £250. It takes place over the August bank holiday weekend (27th - 31st) and culminates at the breath taking Guincho beach on the Portuguese coast.
What is the Route?
The tour runs from Rouen, the stunning capital of Normandy, to Cabo de Roca, Europe's most westerly in point in Portugal. On the way it passes through La Rochelle, the most attractive and unspoilt seaside town of France, San Sebastian, the Spanish summer capital, and the beautiful Salamanca, Spain's original party city.
1. Day 1. Thurs 27th Aug: Rouen to La Rochelle.
2. Day 2. Fri 28th Aug: La Rochelle to San Sebastian
3. Day 3. Sat 29th Aug: San Sebastian to Salamanca
4. Day 4. Sun 30th Aug: Salamanca to Cabo da Roca
5. Day5. Mon 31st Aug: Time to relax on the beach or nurse our hangover
Can we WIN a Prize for all our efforts and your support? “Yes”
Aside from the relief and wonderment of completing the tour and the warm fuzzy sense of achievement associated with raising £1000 for a good cause, there are a number of prizes.
First prize is a week’s stay in a luxury villa in the Algarve and will be awarded to the team that raises the most money for the charity, so come on guys do your thing and let us help smash the fundraising target of a £1000.00.
There will also be a number of other special prizes awarded to the teams the organiser feel have earned it. These include:
1. Most Impressive Fancy Dress (and yes, we do need to convince them that we have worn it for the entire journey!)
2. Best Banger in show (Nathan has to have us win that to prove his worth) Furthest hitchhiked (for those with real crap cars, we are not planning on winning that)
3. Don Quixote award for the biggest mishap en route (we have Paul Rev and Duncan Bartlett this should never happen)
