Team Rubbish is reincarnated to drive from Plymouth to Banjul in December 2008. A journey of 4000 miles being completed in an Orange car called Pickled Onion. We will be driving through Europe and then North Africa (including the Sahara) with only our ingenuity and Chris’ map reading skills (please stop laughing all of you that know Chris!).
When we get there the car will be auctioned to support Gambian charities. Follow our progress at TeamRubbish.org.uk or directly on our blog TeamRubbish.blogspot.com For the UK charity we have chosen Ocean FM’s Help a Local Child.
Ocean FM's charity, Help a Local Child was launched in 2003 with a commitment to helping local children and young people up to the age of 18 who experience the negative effects of poverty, abuse, neglect, homelessness, violence, crime, illness and disability.
There are many children in Hampshire & the Isle of Wight who are carers for their own parents or who are indirect victims of domestic violence or suffer daily pain due to illness. In this world of glamour and gain, these are the children Ocean FM want to help.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: GCap Charities - Help A Local Child - Ocean FM gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor us now!
