SUCCESS! Aches, pains - bad knees, swollen ankle, but over 960 miles later reached the end on Sunday 16 June in swirling winds and rain. Apologies for lack of updates, but I have been travelling since then (and sleeping). Pictures will appear as soon as I can manage it.

A HUGE THANK YOU TO ALL YOU HAVE DONATED!

Hello and thanks for visiting. I'm doing a punishing cycle ride across Britain - 960 miles in just 9 days from John O'Groats to Land's End 8-16 June - to raise money for two superb charities that tend to get less attention than most, and are vulnerable to severe government cuts in a time of growing austerity. Using the links below, please donate to either, or both!

Freedom from Torture gives much needed help to victims who have suffered appalling physical and mental abuse. Many people have problems in the UK, but these victims' experiences put all others into perspective. The charity gives them medical assistance and a new start in life.

Wirral Autistic Society is an excellent grassroots organisation providing residential and day care for people with autism and Asberger's syndrome. They desperately need funding to build a new residential care home and help families with autistic children.

Remember: Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never share them with anyone or send you unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. They'll make sure Gift Aid (an additional 25%) is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer, too. That means more money goes to the charity, faster, with JustGiving.

So please dig deep and donate now.
