Richard's Ultra Marathon Challenge

Team photo

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

I’m attempting my first ever Ultra Marathon along 100km (62miles) of the Cotswold Way. I’ll be starting in Bath on Saturday 29 June and finishing in Cheltenham at some point in the early hours the following day. My aim is to complete it all in one go, running as much of it as I can.

I’m doing this for two reasons. To push myself far far beyond the half marathons, marathons and mountain runs I’ve done in the past , but most importantly to honour two great mates Adam and Jon. Adam Turner died of a sudden heart attack in 2018, the same year as Jon Edwards developed Motor Neuron Disease which he is so bravely fighting.

It would be great to use this Ultra run as a way to raise money for the  British Heart Foundation in memory of Adam, and the My Name5 Doddie Foundation set up by legendary rugby player Doddie Weir, in support of Jon.

Please donate what you can for either charity, or both if you fancy. It would be great to raise similar amounts for both.

Remember: Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never share them with anyone or send you unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. They'll make sure Gift Aid (an additional 25%) is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer, too. That means more money goes to the charity, faster, with JustGiving.
