On the 23rd April, the four of us (pictured) are going to attempt to cycle 1,000 miles from Leamington Spa to Nice, France.

We plan to do this with 10 days of cycling, an average of 100 miles a day. In total, we’ll climb and descend about 17,000 meters, that’s twice the height of Everest. Every day, we’ll each burn around 6,000 calories and be in the saddle for around 8 hours.
We’re raising money for a local hospice that specialises in providing care for families affected by life limiting illness and another charity, Spinal Research who work to help those suffering from spinal injuries. We've two separate links below, please support whichever you'd like.
Every pound raised goes directly to the charity (the cyclists are covering all the costs of the trip). Better yet, our employer, Black Pepper Software will match any donations we get. So pledge a pound, and know that you've triggered at £2 going to these great causes. Add giftaid into the happy mix and you've pushed £2.25 their way.
The team consists of cyclists Dan Hall, Ian Robson, Mark Hobson and John Proudlock.
On Day One of the ride we'll be encouraged along the way by our esteemed colleagues: Ajit Das, Chris Lilley, Dave Winget and Paul Williams. They'll be on their bikes and doing the first 50 lumpy miles south into Oxfordshire.
We will be helped on the entire route by Jonathan Shapiro driving the support vehicle laden with croissants and ibuprofen 'smarties'.
This ride was dreamt up by our friend and colleague Richard Froud. He would have been riding it with us but is currently laid up with an injury, you’ll be missed Rich.
