We are a group of friends from Bradford and over 5 days in May 2014, we will be walking the 81 miles of The Dales Way in memory of our dear friend, David Mitchell, better known to us as Beastie (probably best if you don't ask!). His love of life was infectious and continues to be an inspiration to us all. We decided that it would be a fitting tribute to the big man to do something challenging to try and raise some money for Marie Curie Cancer Care, whose support for Dave and Jenny has been incredible.
We all originally met through our various associations with Clayton Cricket Club and, over the years, we have shared many memorable weekends walking in the Yorkshire Dales with our wives and partners and sampling the local hospitality. We felt that the Dales Way walk would be a suitably challenging and enjoyable experience for us but, most of all, would be something Dave would have loved to have done with us.
He'll be with us every step of the way, spurring us on to the next pub and calling us all something unrepeatable.
