Welcome to our page which we have created to raise funds for Deafblind Scotland on behalf of Michael, Fionas father and my 'dad in law'.
For months we have been planning for Michaels big adventure to celebrate his 70th Birthday this year.
The adventure has changed over the months as we learned together what Dads abilities are on a hill and how well equipped we are to help him achieve his challenge.
Finally we decided that on 21 July we are going to tackle Ben Nevis to raise funds for the charity.
Ben Nevis is a serious undertaking for most reasonably fit people, let alone someone who has entered his seventh decade, suffered a severe break in his hip 18 months ago and has had dual sensory impairment since an early age.
Dad is both blind and deaf and wants to undertake this challenge in order to raise awareness of this condition as well as raise funds for DeafBlind Scotland.
There is a lot of awareness around both of deafness and blindness thanks to the sterling work done by so many, however being both Deaf and Blind adds a whole raft of challenges as you can't use one sense to overcome the other. Dad want's to raise awareness of these unique challenges whilst demonstrating that you can still take part in life fully with the right support.
Please help us help Dad up this mountain and raise a mountain of cash for Deafblind Scotland.
