UPDATE - Completed it in 3hrs 14 mins. It was an awesome experience. I relaxed, got into the groove and flew so to speak. Even managed to soak up some of the stunning scenary en route! Granted there was some tidal assistance but this probably only saved me 35 mins or so!
Anyway still time to sponsor me as will be keeping the pages open for a month !!!
I must be mad but I am doing Dart 10km SWIM! on 3rd September 2011. Yes thats 6.2 miles through brackish english river water.......

So I have set up this "team" page as I wish to raise money for more than one charity. You'll see the total target on the right. All you need to do is choose which charity you would prefer to support (Cancer Research, RNLI and Naomi House) or all of them (-; and go to that page (scroll down this webpage to see their links). Hopefully with all your donations I can be spurred on to achieve this marathon through the water! Its going to be tough as I might end up swimming for as much as 4.5 hours!!!!
This is a mammoth challenge for me and has taken a lot of dedication to get to being able to contemplate it. Not least because it was only last year that I did my first challenge of a 1mile swim in Weymouth Bay which I completed in 1hr 22 mins and that was tough!
So in the run up to this I have reinvented my swimming, had regular swimming lessons and more importantly had fun (and still having it). I have been swimming in all manner of locations - River Thames by Lechlade, R.Burgh by Norfolk Broads, Bournemouth sea, Lakes in Cotswolds, New Forest, & Heron Lake by M25 (lush) and of course the trusted pool. This wild swimming is awesome and I have even begun to like my wetsuit....!
