The team at Filtrex Global are proud to be involved in the De-chox through March to help raise money for the British Heart Foundation.
Who are we kidding? We all love chocolate and this is certainly going to be a tough challenge. Most of us (as hard as it is to openly admit) eat chocolate at least once a day!!!
So although we are ultimately supporting the British Heart Foundations great work, I think we will all certainly feel the health benefits of the de-chox.
Dave Fox, Marketing Director at Filtrex Global says, “I appreciate the need for a healthy lifestyle and this helps the cause! Glad to do what I can to help the good work of the BHF."
Charlotte Quantick, Marketing Coordinator at Filtrex says, "This is a charity particularly close to my heart (excuse the pun) as my partner has a heart condition that he only became aware of a few years ago but has infact had all his life but it was misdiagnosed as asthma. So now he works with a team of specialists monitoring his heart on a regular basis. I think for him to be told he could have died at a young age because of his heart really opens up your eyes. Plus I need a serious de-chox!"
Bryony Tilbrook, Sales at Filtrex says, "I am a self-confessed chocoholic and strongly believe that chocolate triggers the brain to release endorphins – known as the ‘Happy Hormones’! Also, having done a little research I have learnt that theobromine and phenylethylamine found in cocoa are also thought to increase the levels of serotonin which can boost mood and ease depression! However, there is one very important reason, this March, for me to quit chocolate. I have decided to take up the ‘De-Chox’ challenge to raise money for British Heart Foundation, a fantastic charity who are fighting tirelessly against the UK’s single biggest killer: coronary heart disease. I would like to join them in their fight for every heartbeat. (My next step, therefore, in this imminent absence of chocolate, is to research into other activities that offer similar endorphin releasing properties - Farewell Ferrero Rochers, Welcome Yoga ...!)”
Mike Fox, Installations Director says, 'Overdue for a dechox as have never dieted in my life !! '
