As part of Sage Day 2012, our CSR team and the Sage Cycle Club have organised a few bike events to help raise as much money as possible for Cancer Research UK.
After last years epic Office to Office ride, we wondered how we could possibly come up with something a bit different and something that allows cyclists of all abilities to get involved. After careful thought and consideration we came up with some sensible ideas. We then threw these out the window and decided to run loads of events such as cycling from one of Sage’s Operational Companies (OpCo) to another and bringing back an old favourite from years gone by.
So, what are we doing?
There will be six core cycling events as part of Sage Day 2012:
- Newcastle to Purley to Paris
For this ride, we have organised the cycling in two stages, and depending on how keen / mad people were, they signed up to one or both of them. The first is to cycle from Newcastle to Purley (Croydon), over 4 days, and the second is then from Purley to Paris over 3 days.
- Coast to Coast
Last year when we focussed on just the one big charity ride quite a few of you said you’d have liked to do the good old Coast to Coast so, back by popular demand and especially for those people we have arranged this too. It’s a great route with some spectacular scenery (and the odd hill here or there!!).
- Family Ride
Fancy getting out with the whole family in an enjoyable and safe environment, we are arranging a family ride consisting of a 1 mile and a 5 mile route to get the whole family involved.
- Race Against Time
Fancy pitching your abilities against a colleague on Sage Day 2012? Race against a colleague, with a 2 minute timed static ride, and see who can get the furthest. Do you think your good enough?
Your Help!
Well hopefully there is something for everyone in that lot but the main point is to raise money so thanks for visiting our team fundraising page.
By donating to one of our fundraising pages (listed below), you can help us smash our goal and really make a difference.
