Target 250k complete on February 1st 2020 but we press on raising more š
Hi there,
And welcome to the team fundraising page of the Veronica Claxton Memorial fund.
The VCMF is a fund I set up in memory of my dear mum who left a huge hole in all our lives on December 8th 2008 when she lost her short battle with cancer aged just 50.
Keeping her name alive and helping to support others was a real inspiration for me and the fundraising soon began in mid 2009. To date (as of this page hitting its original target of £250,000) we have managed to donate an incredible £355,000 to various good causes both locally and nationally.
Our work has seen us recognised with various awards both locally and nationally with a trip to 10 Downing St after being named a 'point of light' by former prime minister David Cameron and a regional fundraiser of the year award courtesy of the Pride of Britain awards where we competed with 16 others for the national fundraiser of the year.
More recently the focus has been entirely on helping CLIC Sargent support the thousands of children with cancer across the UK suffering from cancer at such an early stage in their lives. After raising £14,500 in 3 months in 2014 and then £50,000 inside 10 months the target was then upped again to a massive quarter of a million on September 1st 2014 which we managed to complete in just over 5 years at our celebratory ball in early 2020. For now we press on as before with new targets and new goals but the aim is always the same. To help children living with cancer as much as we can.
Anybody is welcome to get involved and get their own thing going on and help support our mission to our huge goal. As you can see below we have lots of pages and events going on and would love to have you on board too helping us along.
For more information on any of our fundraising or to just simply request one of our special money pots to help collect those vital pennies in please don't hesitate to contact me on claxtonluke@yahoo.com or veronicaclaxtonmemorialfund@gmail.com
Thanks a lot for your time and for helping to support us through your friends and family.
For Mum. Always.
Cheers
Luke Claxton
