This January, mother and daughter have teamed up to take on Dryathlon® to raise cash for Cancer Research UK. We will be ditching the drink for one month to help bring forward the day when all cancers are cured. Anyone that knows us will know exactly how much the Poes love a glass of wine so it will be a challenge, but worth it in the end!
Sadly, cancer touches the lives of so many of us. In our case, we lost a dear friend ten years ago and just recently, Caron was diagnosed.
It is because of research and modern equipment provided through donations that Mum's breast cancer was detected at the earliest stage. She has since had surgery and is now undergoing radiotherapy. The doctors are confident she will make a full recovery, cancer free.
Without charities like Cancer Research UK providing the help that they do, this might not have been possible and the outcome could have been very different.
