Maternity Worldwide is working to reduce mortality associated with childbirth in developing countries. This is through deployment of medical and midwifery staff, subsidy of patient care for those most in need and advocacy within the developed world.

On Saturday 10th May, Hannah, Jayne and Caroline will be walking 60 km (yes 60) across the South Downs to raise money for Maternity Worldwide.

Maternity Worldwide is a small UK charity working to save lives in childbirth in developing countries.  In the UK, women rarely worry about surviving pregnancy and childbirth due to quality maternity care.  However, women in Sub-Saharan Africa have a 1 in 16 lifetime risk of death related to pregnancy.


Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Maternity Worldwide will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
