My story

From 12th - 19th May 2007 Gavin Dunn, Peter Thompson and
David Staiano are going on a long journey.

We will start on the young river Thames just outside Lechlade, in the Cotswolds and row a very heavy Victorian skiff for seven days travelling 130 miles down the river to the capital. We will pass the towns and cities of Oxford, Wallingford, Reading, Henley and Marlow before finishing in Richmond - totally exhausted and in need of a drink! Sweat, blood, blisters and heated debate will have to be endured on this epic journey both day and night.

We are taking on this feat of endurance to raise money for Macmillan Nurses. Each of us have lost a parent to cancer and would therefore encourage you to make a donation to the charity, the support they give is vital to both patient and family.

Giving on this site is very easy, totally secure and all donations go straight to Macmillan, it really couldn't be easier. Please sponsor us on-line and if you are a UK taxpayer we will be able to raise a further 28% from the Chancellor.

Thank you.

Gav, Pete and David

FINISHED 29.05.2007
-----------------------------------------------
We all finished safe and sound on Saturday 19th May at around 15.45. We suffered from torrential rain most of the week, we really did get very wet. The boat had to be bailed out - 50 litres of water on one particular day. This didn't damped our spirits too much and thanks to all you sponsors it urged us on to the finish.

There are a few thanks we need to give, firstly to everyone who sponsored us including our off-line sponsors; Alan Binding, Grahame Medhurst, My Stanley, Paul Tomkinson, Sean Baxter, Chris Furlong, Ian Higgins, Susan Spinola, Hobbs Barbers, Lisa Staiano, Barbara Sunderland, Alan Mansfield and Ken Milton

And secondly, to the people who helped us along the way;
The New Inn, Lechlade. Giving us a reduced rate on rooms.
Mick Coliins for organising my BBC Radio debut.
Head of the River, Oxford, a great welcome after the wettest day and giving us a free lunch.
The Compleat Angler, Marlow, supporting us and providing free accommodation.
Globe Rowing Club for giving us all the knowledge!

Thank you
David, Gavin and Peter.
