As most of you may now know I am driving to Mongolia with my good friend Henry in order to raise money for the Stroke Association.

Less of you may know in 2011 my Grandad had a stroke very suddenly, and for me the hardest part was not being able to do anything. All me, my family and the doctors could do is wait and see how severe it was. Now ask any of my family and they will tell you how severe it was and that he is a shadow of his former self. Being the only optimist in the family, I don't agree. I think we are very lucky that he has recovered so well, and that there are many families out there who are much less fortunate! I want to raise money so we don't have to just sit and watch and so other families can be as fortunate as we are!

So now the depressing part is out of the way I can tell you what we are doing. We have tasked ourselves with the job of driving 10,000 miles across a third of the world, all the way to Mongolia. The most obvious thing to do would be to buy a big 4x4, well that's not allowed, we will be doing it in a car with an engine no bigger than a 1.2 and I am the main mechanic. Yep that's right, if a wheel falls off I'm the guy that will be tying it back on with my shoelace.
