Cancer Research UK is the world's leading independent organisation dedicated to cancer research. We support research into all aspects of cancer through the work of more than 4,250 scientists, doctors and nurses. Over the past 10 years alone, thousands of lives have been saved through earlier detection and improved treatments. But, much work remains to be done if we are to achieve our aim of beating cancer.

My story

Thanks for visiting The ARCR fundraising page.

The ARCR (Adventure Racers for Cancer Research) is an adventure racing team trying to raise £10,000 for Cancer Research UK by the end of 2011.

What is adventure racing? Each event is different but the general format involves mountain biking at least 20 miles, running/treking at least 10 miles and kayaking at least a couple of miles within a certain timeframe. What makes it harder is that a minimum number of checkpoints must be navigated to throughout the course or penalties occur.
