What's it all about?

On 18th July, Cate, Charlie and Cat will be setting out from Goodwood, in Sussex, in a 10 year old Skoda. The aim is to arrive (intact) in Ulanbataar, Mongolia, a month later.  We're one of around 500 teams participating in the 2009 Mongol Rally (see http://mongolrally.theadventurists.com for more details). Our only real qualification for this mamoth undertaking is some fairly extensive travel experience, very little mechanical knowledge and even less Russian!

The trip will be an amazing adventure, and we're using the opportunity to raise money for Mercy Corps' programme in Mongolia. The money raised will be used to target rural communities, specifically to improve education  and livelihoods. All donations, however big or small, can make a real difference.  Just £1.50 can purchase a tree sapling to help combat overgrazing of pastures. At the other end of the scale, £250 can repair and equip a training room where people with limited income can learn new skills.

Keep up to date with our preparations and the trip itself at http://thedaytrippers.wordpress.com

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Mercy Corps gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor us now!  Thanks for your generous support.
