Us sumos want to thank you for visiting our page! A lot fun in a short time for a good cause. Simple as.
Dressed in inflatable giant sumo suits, together we are to tackle whilst, giggling, singing, dancing, puffing, zigg-ing, zagg-ing, then a lot of laughing plus a bit of light running, for a short distance of 5km / 3miles around Battersea park, on a great summer's day for one terrific cause.

Gemin-i-org was founded with the core aims of facilitating education by creating new IT solutions that would benefit, suit and educate those in schools in the developing world. The Internet was the obvious solution, but it had its own set of problems in these countries. These problems were that all software on the market was designed for use in the western world, where computers were common and problems such as unreliable ISPs and slow phone lines are a thing of the past. So Gemin-i.org decided to write their own piece of software, that required no downloads, worked in a web browser, allowed five kids to use one computer simultaneously, used very little bandwidth, was safe for the kids to use and was educationally sound. It was a very tall order, but Gemin-i.org did it. A year later Gemin-i-org won two large grants from the UK Department for International Development and The Department for Education and Skills to trial the project for two years. Four years on and Gemin-i-org run dozens of projects in over 30 countries across the world and involving tens of thousands of pupils.

So feel around for that beer money and loose change at the back of your sofa, or demand your bosses to get out his brand new company cheque book and support the "The Fat Kid always wins at See-saw" sumo team around Battersea Park with your generous help. Every amount counts. (each sumo is to raise £250 min)

To see us in action, do come along on the day and shout our team name to cheer us on!
(for once, I don't mind if we cross that line last)
