Hello there!
We are not the random group of charity walkers you might think - we all have reasons to passionately support the work of Countess Mountbatten House in caring for the terminally ill and their families. Countess Mountbatten Hospice Charity currently adds to the commitment of the NHS in running the service with almost £1m per annum, and this figure is increasing.
Three of us are trustees of the charity, two of us have been members of staff and have also had close members of our family cared for by the Hospice. It is unlikely that many folk within the catchment area of Southampton and central southern Hampshire have not known someone supported by CMH over the years.
On the 19th May 2009 we are taking a week to walk the Great Glen Way from Fort William to Inverness. It may not sound the most daring of events, but we feel it is appropriate for our stage of life!!
