Thanks for taking the time to visit and for all your generous contributions and inspirational messages.  A special thanks to Barclaycard who have pledged £750 through their £4£ matched funding scheme - this figure is reflected in our off line donations.

This lovely photo is our Mum, Nancy, who devoted her life to nursing sick children.  Sadly she lost her own battle to cancer in May this year.  As you can see from our 4th photo she was full of fun, joie de vivre and spirit, inspiring us to channel our energy into making a contribution to children's lives too.

We pledged to run 13.1 miles in a bid to raise as much money as possible to ensure that children and young adults with life shortening illnesses live life to the full, in the way that Nancy always did.  The furthest Helen had jogged before was 6 miles; Ange completed a half marathon over 10 years ago, so this really was no walk in the park!

Important news update...we successfully crossed the finish line and have our medals to prove it as you can see from our not so glamorous 5th and final photo attached!

We discovered Helen and Douglas House recently and instantly knew that the great work they do captures everything which Mum valued.  This charity provides respite and end of life care for children and young people, as well as valuable support and friendship for their families.

Based in Oxford, the two hospices are bright, vibrant and positive places, where the emphasis is on living life to the full, even when that life may be short.  It costs £4.5 million per year to run the two houses, 95% of which is funded by voluntary contributions.   Your money will help towards:

providing a nurse for the day (£105)

providing individualised medical care for one child/young person for a month (£693)

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - we raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now to allow these young people to make the most of EVERY day.

Thank you so much for any contribution however large or small....

Angie and Helen xx
