Why the Brain and Spine Foundation? Well my Dad, Mick Newstead, was struck down with a brain haemorrhage on 31st March 2009, from which he died from on 6th April. He received the very best care when in hospital and was made as comfortable as possible. We were all shellshocked as he was so well loved by everyone who knew him. He was only 67 years old. He gave the best part of his life to the police force and the best part of himself to my Mum Sue and us children, Lynne, John and Grant. A while after his death we were all sitting around the table discussing something we could give back and something we could dedicate to my Dad. We came up with running the London Marathon. From the 5 of us that thought we could give it a go, only Sam and Andrea remain! We are all immensely proud and thankful to them for commiting to such a mammoth task ahead!!
We need to raise as much cash as possible for this very worthy charity. We are arranging a charity dinner and dance and other events, but we really need your donations. I suspect you know a loved one who has been affected by brain and spine illnesses and the charity needs all the cash it can get. Please please give generously and make my Dad proud!!
